"We are either self-contained individuals whose success or failure lies in personal accomplishment and whose life meaning is determined by what ones' own lifetime, or we are connected to larger bodies linked by blood and common experience and thus share in the successes or failure of our ancestors. However, we cannot be modern self-contained individuals by the liberal philosophy, but also be suffering some kind of oppression on behalf of our ancestors that requires modern projects in producing collective "pride" to fix."
A quick point to mention about the curious phenomenon known as "black history month". As I have written elsewhere, part of the drive of the alt-right, and indeed a good portion of its necessity, derives from the move that took place in the Western world to associate "pride" in the collective actions of one's ancestors, as well as the collective attribution of guilt, and even certain resources and opportunities, like access to the benefits of quota systems. All this, while in complete contravention of the individualist "I can only take pride or guilt in my own actions and all that matters is my wealth and life experience rather than the culture of my ancestors" attitude of liberalism.
Yet, liberalism not only allowed the leftist collectivist identity politics to take hold, but they ushered it on. They did so to the extent that, if black people may take an entire month of pride personal pride in the astonishingly few and often over-stated contributions to art and science made by their ancestors, to whom they may not have been directly related much later than 10-20 000 years ago, then white people around the world take heed. Not only is it appropriate for you to take pride in the accomplishments of your more proximate genetic relatives in the form of nations, but you all may lay claim to the accomplishments of all European people.
Considering the amount of "pride" that black people take in the rather bare bones genuine successes of black people around the world over the space of a month, your heads should be overflowing with pride 24 7. This wouldn't make sense with a liberal view of the world, of course, but as we can see by their support of leftist collectivist "pride" projects and general identity politics of racial minorities in the Western world, liberals are not particularly invested in their own logic and ideals, so why should you be?
Liberals have completely lost any limb to upon which to stand, when it comes to reminding ethno-centric people of European descent that they have no claim to the success of their ancestors on the grounds of liberal individualist values, since liberals clearly don't believe it themselves. If they did, they wouldn't completely ignore their individualist liberal philosophy when it comes to patting the backs of colourful client peoples for whom ethno-centrism is first nature, and encouraging collective pride in ethnic and civilizational achievements. And no, the "well they have been systemically oppressed and made to feel bad about themselves by Western society" argument does not apply, because if one is purely a self-contained individual and may take no legitimate pride in or make no legitimate action toward mobilizing around the history of ones' ethnic and civilizational kin, then why on Earth would the astonishing dearth of sub-Saharan African ethnic and civilizational accomplishments have any impact on modern INDIVIDUAL black people?
The answer is that liberals are perfectly comfortable with group thinking when it comes to developing their righteous guilt complex and forcing it on others, but not when it comes to ethnic Europeans studying their ethno-cultural and civilizational histories and what it means for their futures, in which case taking pride in the histories and accomplishments of one’s ancestors, and organizing self delineated kinship and collective action around those histories is verboten.
Further, as I have mentioned elsewhere, it is impossible for a group of people to have been “oppressed” because group competition throughout history had no rules beyond success or failure. European nations and western civilization committed no wrongs by succeeding at the expense of others, as could have happened the other way around, to secure dominance for their progeny. No, “oppression” in terms that could have any meaning to Western liberals, could only apply to individuals and could only describe an individual being denied some opportunity to succeed on their own by their society, and thus deserve recompense as required by the liberal philosophy of fair play WITHIN a society.
In short, either we are either self-contained individuals whose success or failure lies in personal accomplishment and whose life meaning is determined by what ones' own lifetime, or we are connected to larger bodies linked by blood and common experience and thus share in the successes or failure of our ancestors. However, we cannot be modern self-contained individuals by the liberal philosophy, but also be suffering some kind of oppression on behalf of our ancestors that requires modern projects in producing collective "pride" to fix. It is not only hypocritical, it is just internally inconsistent and does nothing but create/reinforce the categories “white” “black” and otherwise within Western societies, only to work solely against the members of the “white” social category, by denying them what is provided to all social categories, ironically, in the nations that the ancestors of the white category built.
So, taking our que from liberals/leftists and all progenitors of concepts like “pan-africanism”, “black pride” and “black history month”, Duns Soctus of Alternative Right is entirely justified in his statement "The good thing about "Black History Month" is not that it makes us consider the achievements of Blacks—for whatever reason those are too few and far between—but that it forces us consider our own awe-inspiring achievements. Black History Month thus becomes a good excuse for a bit of White Pride".
Another standard argument we’ve all heard before is but need to arm ourselves against is, “every month is white history month. White people are privileged and get so much, so how dare they condemn marginalized groups trying to take a bit of pride themselves”. Well, aside from the blatant absurdity of expecting the facts of history to be handed out like participation prizes as though there were some moral demiurge one can expect to make history “fair” (sorry, the reason whitey wrote it is because he succeeded where your ancestors failed), there is another problem with this argument.
It is not true. Should a white person take any interest in identifying with the successes of their ancestors and celebrate them in such terms, they will quickly discover that, apparently, what white people have invented belongs to everyone, and to claim any association with such discoveries and inventions is “racist”. This will be asserted by the same ideology behind movements like “black history month”, which we have already established are perfectly comfortable encouraging various races and ethnic groups to associate themselves with and feel pride for the apparent accomplishments of their ancestors.
So in reality, despite their ancestors having invented and discovered a wildly disproportionate number of benefits to humanity, white people do not get to claim any affiliation whatsoever with their past successes, even in the societies built by their ancestors supposedly to serve the interests of their progeny. Do the Chinese tone down their pride in the accomplishments of Han Chinese scientists and philosophers? What about Arabs? Indians? We already know it isn’t true of black people, considering the likes of “black history month”.
So in short, it is right and noble for every group of people to associate with and take pride in the achievements of their ethnic and racial groups, with the exception of the one group…which apparently has all the pride, despite being allowed none, and has all the “privilege” in history, despite the hard earned successes of their ancestors getting written away only to be replaced by the over-inflated and usually marginal successes of other groups. As I said in the title, whitey, it is time to wake up. Neo-Liberal globalism needs to sacrifice you and those like you for its dream world to succeed. The cruel irony is that, even when you and all memory of you as distinct peoples and nations, and as a distinct race, are gone, the individualist globalist fantasy world that everyone will become a perfect idealized American one day, will still not come true. It will have all been for nothing, unless we recognize what is going on and prevent it from happening.
